Years of rainbows

by Karla   Apr 8, 2012

I painted rainbows on my walls,
to hold back those years of surprise
and bewilderment when I used to slice
the hours and serve the minutes
on trays of forgetfulness.

My hands were faster than
my thoughts and I didn't need
names or explanations to understand
why life moved in mysterious ways.

There was a miracle for each day
of the week and my dream catcher
was hung over my bed, swallowing
my bad dreams.

Now I paint rainbows on the chambers
of my heart to remember I myself
was one once.
My true colors and delicate hues
are still hidden there.

My favorite part was the opening; so creatively weaved! the term:' trays of forgetfulness' was thought provoking.
And.. the rest was great, too :)
So much to grasp in here, Karla. You are brilliant!
