Why

by Alicia   Apr 10, 2012

'Whats the point in living for your dreams,
Knowing they'll fade into nothing?
Why make life more than it seems?
As if it's really something.

Why follow your heart when one day it'll fail?
Abandon you six feet underground.
Proudly saying that love will prevail,
When by hate you're tightly bound.

What will love do for anybody
Except end with a tragedy?
You can't become someone else
Cause you were born to be yourself.'

'Well, you can point and try to accuse,
I know you don't want to believe,
But what you think is how you choose,
And your mind just might deceive.

Your soul needs dreams to feel complete,
Your heart fights to make a beat.
Losing hope is in your head.
Here, try on some faith instead.

It isn't love that makes a tragedy,
It persists, it has tenacity.
Giving up is what brings you down.
That's worse than six feet underground.

No need to be a different person,
Just improve until you're proud.
And if by then you're still uncertain,
It's okay to blend within the crowd.

And know this too, that I'll be there.
No matter what you say or do,
I'll have your back and show I care,
Cause I believe in you.'
