Altered Photographs

by Meme   Apr 11, 2012

A snapshot-
then you walked away,
to start adjusting the
reality to fit your sick
fantasies.

Dimming the brightness
of my sunny days, to see
me a prisoner of your
darkness.

Stealing the contrasted
colors that flavored my
life, giving me a taste of
your blunt greyness.

Cropping all the pieces
that define me, leaving
me wandering with no
identity.

Applying one effect
after the other, until
you satisfy your hidden
desires.

You hang me -a standing
still poser- in a gallery of
altered photographs.

OMG THIS IS SO UNIQUE! I LOVE THIS IDEA! Im so jealous I didn't think of it!!

Seriously I loved that you took words that we do with photographs (crop, edit, effect) and used them in a different sense to describe what its like when a person tries to change you....dear God that is brilliant!

    Very very well done!!

I really loved this poem, dark, open and honest kind of "laid out bare" the imagery was fantastic and the ending was just perfect, loved it! :-) x

This poem is really unique and I was pulled in straight away. I liked the atmosphere of the piece and the creepy vibe of the poem. There are some sick people out there and this piece captures that.
