Roses

by RayOfDarkness   Apr 11, 2012

Roses; red with blood,
Thick with petals.
Roses; heavy like lead,
Eternal like life.
Roses; fierce with fire,
Rounded with dread.

Just as us,
They have purpose.
Something important,
Something potent.
Don't take away,
Like the end of the day.

Thanks... I don't particularly like this piece that I wrote though. I personally think my other poems are better... some a least. (:

    "They have purpose.

This is a really interesting piece. Perhaps this is about giving importance to roses, they're not made to be cut and given to someone, and just die.. They should also live a long life bringing beauty to this ugly world..

    "Don't take away,
Like the end of the day."
Great ending, but I think you should add 'them' between take and away to keep the flow going.

All in all a great read. Keep writing :) 5/5
