Taste Again

by jade   Apr 11, 2012

I poured out my heart,
the very first glass of a heart you've ever tasted.
you drank every drop and every word.
I hope you thirst was quenched
for I am parched now with not a sip to keep.
The once sweet drink you gulped down,
you now tell me was only bitter.
You've spit out every drop you've ever swallowed
as though my heart were venom.
But tell me dear,
How do you know the taste of venom so well?
Was I not your first glass?
Perhaps the venom taste was in your glass, not mine.
