Maybellines Martyr (Collab)

by Chelsey & Maple Tree   Apr 13, 2012

Inspired by eyeliner :)

Those dark, lucid words
flow within a pale gaze,
seeking a velvet design,
hiding the darkest of circles

Covering wrinkled paper
of aging emotions
providing a secure barrier
for spilled out cries

Ebony silk devours
a falling tear and
beauty breathes
upon a dancing stanza

Staining the skin of
wreckless words
Hiding the insomnia
of tired rhymes

Tips of a pencil
consume hidden
secrets- chaotic
scribbles of sorrow

Concealing the weariness
of my thoughts
Remaining the martyr
of my lonesome literature

I'm so sure Chelsey has written this part because it contains 'dancing', ha ha! You are so damn creative, you guys! I for the first time found this more cute and funny that creative but with the second read I felt something connected to it. Were you both describing something through the use of eyeliner? I had the idea one month ago to write about eyeliner but not in a million years I'll write such a piece! I truly loved it.

    Keep writing together!

This is so friggin amazing. I also cannot tell who wrote what part. I don't think it's because I'm half asleep either. It's seriously because I feel that the two of you knew what you wanted to express and have found that connection that ends up you writing like each other.

The poem itself was awesome. I love the images and the words you both used in this piece. It just flowed so naturally and beautifully.

    Awesome job my lovlies!

I give up, today is the day when my brain doesn't work or both Collabs that I have seen are really well written because I can't distinguish who wrote which part. I liked seeing the word lonesome along with literature, I like how they sound. I really like the word choices.

    This one is my favorite
