These Days

These Days

Days pass us by,
Spinning like a hurricane,
Invading every peaceful tribute,
As the world just stands by.

These days all we can do is sit and wait,
Wait for the wars to calm,
The poor to gain a better way,
The atmosphere strays with a change that can't wait.

So many houses might burn bravely,
The trees will see the sides of axes,
Mountains grow and tumble,
We're wrong to think our world stands tall and strong.

The gun fire is as recent as your bounding heart
Bombs blow in every nightmare
And our fear rests here
Taken from our lives are ones too young but gone

Though we know what has been misused
We don't listen to ourselves on the wings of our world
We tempt the fate like we sawed the whole string
There is so much we don't know

Life is like a thunder storm
So often rain comes down on your parade
You're left to go through it unprepared
Which reminds you of so many other things.
