Alysia's color

by Yakari Gabriel   Apr 20, 2012

Alysia is intriguing,
I haven't seen her face in
real life yet, but I can tell by the
way she looks that she's a mixture of
beautiful things.

Alysia lives in the USA,
but she doesn't stand in line
with your average American
girl, she doesn't have blue eyes
nor blond hair, but who needs
the sun in their hair, when you carry it in
your chest?

Alysia has caramel skin,
she's lighter than most blacks
but darker than most whites
but why compare her to
a pathetic candy, when Alysia
is the color of Audacity.

she has thick black curls,
a cute little nose, and a soul
full of purity.

Alysia is a woman of
color, all colors.
hope,joy,mercy,
grace,gratitude.

and even if we lived
in some hundreds
years ago,

I would still rather
feel a whip land on my
back,
than be a hypocrite

I would rather feel
the rage of ten thousand
eyes, than to ever deny

That I absolutely
admire, all the guts, talent
and wisdom of
a woman who is darker
than me.
