I think perhaps a great percentage of us have felt like this at some point in our lives and it is difficult and at time terrifying to confront the other me. Well done.

I agree.. but sometimes, there is confusion in searching for our identity, our real identity. and all we want is to be considered 'normal' by the people around us. Great write.

Powerully written Ben.... and a poem with truth! How many people admit to these lines....

"Smile and pretend who they want me to be;
Mirror on the wall, reflecting society.
Cradling a dead personality,
To keep status-quo normality "

I know I did at one time.... I was what people expected me to be, until finally I realised I couldn't be anymore. It was like having 2 personalities as your poem says. I think there come's a time when we realise and are not afraid to be " Me" .

We all feel this way at point or the other in our life and it hurts to carry on this way. We put up a show just to fit into society or we will be ridiculed and at the same time we don't want to let down those around us. A very sad write where the weight of sadness in the heart is poured onto paper...take care.

I really like this piece, you have a great use over language and your vocab, flow was fantastic and the tone was perfect all the way through. Its good to see your use of punctuation being spot on too, sometimes people use it and it interrupts the flow of the piece because they've not got it down right.....sad but wonderful write :-)
