Dear Noah...

by Shades of Gray   Apr 22, 2012

I enter the crowded room.
Your smile is still the brightest.
Your eyes, the deepest.
Your voice, the most confident.
I remember what we used to be.
Our friendship was so strong.
It's pointless to think of the past
'cuz it's already so far gone.
The words of hate we screamed
can never be taken back.
Our hearts and lives were ripped apart.
But best friends must forgive.
We forgave each other,
the best we could.
But the damage could not be repaired.
We were friends again.
But our friendship had changed.
Cautious.
Distant.
Wary.
It was like we had just met,
though that was hardly the case.
You're over me now,
our lives are far apart.
You're happy, so I guess I am too.
I thought all I wanted
was for you to be happy.
But, as it turns out, it's not.
Maybe this is selfish but...

I JUST WANT MY BEST FRIEND BACK!!!

Friendships once broken can never be fully repaired again. Your poem touches me because the feelings it conveyed are so raw and true. Changed friendships and e-best friends; they are so hurtful because you know what you had once and now it is all gone. Good job!

Forgiveness is born for Anger.. Behind all 'goodbye', there's 'welcome'.. When it's over, result is called.. Things go wrong to turn good at last.. Good job..
