My Death

by Special K   Apr 24, 2012

Your grip painfully tight.
I can make out you face,
in the dim moonlight.
The rays enter through the small cracks
in the cave.
White, papery skin
stretched across you bony face.
Cold to the touch.
Soulless black eyes
glare into mine.
Thin pale lips pull back
revealing jagged yellow teeth
dotted red with blood.
A shuddering sight.
I cannot help but shiver
averting my eyes from you.
The sound of steel nails scarping against
metal fill the silence.
Chills run up my spine.
Awful sounded ringing in my ears.
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh
Footsteps approaching.
Dark cloaked figures appear,
surrounding me.
I do not scream,
flinch or wince.
Death worse than my own torment awaits me.
Sized by many cold hands with steel nails
I'm dragged over to the drop in the cave.
A thousand feet below
I can detect the sharp rocks.
Putrid smell of rotten flesh and blood
burns my lungs.
Many people dead, impaled by
sharp rocks in the chest
hang below.
Mouths parted in painful scrams
eyes staring sightless into mine.
I shudder and gulp,
fear finally claiming me.
Trembling with fast shallow breaths
someone pushes me over the edge
I plummet to my death.
