My Heart Awaits

by Anna Stephens   Apr 26, 2012

As there he vanished to the night
A zephyr wafting through the mind
Of love so pure, alas finite
Two hearts forever intertwined
Sweet memories long left behind
More tears than stars in Heaven's gate
Your lover's words were so unkind
But still my heart for you awaits

This is a wonderfully penned piece with a lovely, natural flow to it - really well written.

I read this poem yesterday and did not have the time to comment. I think it is superb writing Anna. Simple poetry at its best. Would fit well in a postcard or poetry book of romance. Delightful read.
