The Tip Of The Leaf

by Mello193   May 1, 2012

September air around my face
has this gentle breeze
this sacred place
as you let out an adorable sneeze
you hold my hand
and grasp it tight
we walked atop this grassy land
to watch the ravens take flight
you point to a tree
where we shared our first kiss
the cherry blossoms bloomed
and still i remember all this
we assumed the bodies were entombed
we sat in the graveyard
naked and alone
the shallow glass shard
ripped the heart she'd shown
we point to a fallen leaf
it floated around us both
she took it in her belief
to recite an oath of growth
with curiosity she noticed its unique shape
the form of a two hearts unclasped
to forgive this subtle escape
that its life wouldn't last
the fragility of its being
as the leaf would crumble
and if not believing was seeing
the trees it seems would stumble
she reached out and grabbed it
the tip of the leaf
and in love we would sit
to my heart a beautiful relief
that, that leaf would bring our kiss
the first we'd ever share
and the one thing that i will always miss
is the way she broke the tip of the leaf with care

I agree with Dagmar Wilson, this was lovely and I had a little movie playing in my head from it. So sweet and personal. Very nice poem. :3
