Will You Remember Me (Malignant)

by Mello193   May 4, 2012

Draining and aching
feels my heart breaking
dead cells, and dizzy spells
Malignant they say, just a few more days
not enough time to say goodbye
and in time, i know, dont cry for me
this is just the way it has to be
my body is dying, cant keep from crying
i lie motionless on this hospital bed
will you remember all the words i said
will you remember me?

my genetic fault
my life came to a halt
the tumor benign
i dont have much time
as they take another tissue sample
I'm just a statistic, a simple example
Inoperable and deadly
now i will go sadly
the life i never got to live
please find it in your heart to forgive
mother and sister
please tell her I'll miss her
disillusioned from the chemo
outward i scream oh
i cant even muster a tear
i wonder if there's an after life
I'm filled with such fear

my own metastasis
can i have one more kiss, before i enter the abyss
Will you remember the good times
will you read back my rhymes
will you remember all the words Ive said
just one kiss before I'm dead
Will you remember me?

I think that this poem is really meaningful, especially since there are a lot of people who probably feel exacly this way due to some serious sickness they might have. I have to admit that I can relate to this piece in some way because of personal experiences(not as bad)
I like how you both explained what was taking place and tried to make sure that those who are left realize ones more that they are dear to you(the speaker).
Usually I am not a fan of repetition, but since you didn't overdo it I thought it fit. Especially since that is one of those things that keep running through ones mind during that time. Both, whether remembered at all and if so then in what way?
