I Remember

by Fulcrous   May 6, 2012

The waves were silently falling upon the beach.
The wind was strong and pushed the clouds in the sky.
Do you remember?
It was our beach, our happy place
where we'd let go of all our worries and tears,
But those days are gone.
Time goes on and as the years fly by
I stare up and watch the azure sky,
like I used to,
So that our precious day won't ever disappear
And remain in my heart for as long as I live.
Hey...
Do you remember?

Wow I really like this piece. Is it too late for someone to nominate it for a weekly contest?

Unfortunately I think it may only be nominated during the week it was written. It doesn't hurt to try though.
Personally I feel that rather than having my poems enjoyed by many, it is more satisfying as an author to witness the enjoyment of the few who have stumbled upon poems by chance.

I really like this piece and the way it is so descriptive yet still left some room for personal interpretation. I also like the fact it was so free and so friendly. Honestly I wish more people would read this piece because I for one believe it is stunning. Excellent job. Fantastic write. Being added to my favorite poems list.

    5/5 for sure.
