Line 7 should waiting on be waiting for?
To me this about a couple, the man no longer loves the woman with all his heart and they are going through the motions. Maybe she is trying to convince herself that she can live like this because it would be a nightmare to be without him. I may be a yard off the mark here but this is how it reads to me.
Very strong end, I like how it slows right down, maybe just maybe exemplifies the thought that she is trying to convince herself.
