No Regret

by Chantal   May 10, 2012

It's ironic that song of my happiest days are also my saddest too.
because i know i'll never be as happy as i was in those moments with you.

all those drives, afternoons spent on the couch, just talking, holding me in your arms. you had me convinced you could do me no harm.

you showed me what love could feel like, that small taste got me hooked.
this is something i won't regret, cause you gave me a new outlook.

it's better to have love that was lost that none. the feeling was heart shattering hearing you say you're done.

i'll keep in mind all the things i was shown, but with you gone i've never felt more alone.

you gave me a love that melted my heart into something new.
now it's waiting for someone to come along and give it a different view.

you will always remain a special someone, but for now i've got to learn to be with no one.

now when we see each other i put on a brave face and smile,
smile cause i miss you,
smile cause i finally see.
that you were meant to show me,
what love could really be.

    Speechless.
Only b/c you just added up
    everything I have recently felt.
    :]
Gave it a positive some-what outlook,
which gives my heart some hope.

    I really like this poem!

    Good job! 5/5
