Grandma

You look at me and smile
you tell me you're alright
but i know that you are weakening
you've put up quite a fight.

You used to tell me stories
about your childhood
like your favorite one cent candies
or that cherry colored wood.

my eyes begin to swell with tears
my heart begins to sink
i know that you are dying here
and it really makes me think.

Why did he choose for you to go
you were but in your prime
your life had only just begun
i wish you had more time.

The cancer slowly ate away
the life that you once knew
i hope you find that peaceful place
and remember, forever, ill always love you!

*this really isn't one of my greatest poems, well i havent really had any good ones, but its all true and it made me feel better writing it. But I guess thats all that matters, right?
