Why don't we sail, Roma?

by Poet on the Piano   May 14, 2012

Just driving away from the collarbone of an airplane
makes me feel like I've woken up from a deep fluttering,
far away from dreams, but into a new reality
that stares at me with ascending ambitions.
No one next to me but the skin of my true self
watching as the strangers in the cab around me
echo silently
and it's how been so long since my pulse
has felt more than paper edges.
I would rather be here in this October,
where the smile of sunshine never leaves
the blossoming white veils and black suits
of the bride and groom approaching the center
in a rush of hello wanderers.

Rivers wave in baby fountains
and you don't try to sit me down
as I breathe the sky,
unable to find a place to rest even if I wanted to.
Everyone is in motion, yet it doesn't blind me.....
my eyes sail across the clarity of sunlight and blue cities
no landscape can invite me more than you.

You won't see me waiting by the corner
ordering in language I've never known
for I'll be asking you in silence to take me home with you.

I like this one. Reminds me of being lost in the moment with the one you love. How nothing else matter around you. That as long as you with them everything is stopped in time. Great job. :)
