Maybe If I Was Perfect

by fakingeverything   May 15, 2012

Maybe if I was skinnier you would have chose me

Well I guess I'll starve myself to see how thin I can be.

Maybe if I was prettier you would have chose me

Well I guess I'll cake the make-up so the flaws you can't see.

Maybe if I was nicer you would have chose me

Well I guess I'll be a saint so that it makes you happy.

Maybe if I wasn't so effing depressed everyday

You would have chose me and not walked away.

Maybe if I wasn't myself in front of you

You would have never said that we were through.

Is that what you want? Would that be enough?

For me to be someone who's perfect to love,

Who isn't fat, or ugly, or just a straight up b%&$#

Because sadly for you I'd do all of that s%$@

I would change myself to be perfect for you

Even if it killed me, I'd do it all for you.

Love can take all of that which is on the surface and cast it aside to show the truth of a person under it all. When someone cant get past the surface they are worthy of such kind of love.
