Carousel-

by Poet on the Piano   May 16, 2012

I'm screaming for you to listen, for you to look behind my eyes
where you think I invent my smile; see my twisting feet,
the way the wheels of my heart are never graceful
and I can never finish where the night ends my lights.....

but I can't keep away the rust that hardens the openings of my eyes,
where they used to wrinkle up when they watched the sun
ascend upon its hill- may I say darling, I'm too late for you?

I need you to know that sometimes I'm the invisible screw
an extra hand in the circle, unbalancing symmetry
and using emotion that makes you stuck at the top
of the carnival ride, but you'll try, you'll try to say
no one needs to fix me- without leaving?

won't you call me beautiful, though I fall and scarcely have enough
bones to get back up, won't you see the joy I don't know how to carry?

will you say I already have love and that i don't need a ride for it-
for electricity only sparks and wires only break but you'll still be with me, today?

if May never lets you win here I promise, I'll try,
to be the broken wings that can still love where I could never.

This poem reminds me of someone that wants to let the other one know how they feel but the other person just doesn't want to listen. It's like they can't understand no matter how hard you try to tell them. So many people go through this. Nice job. :)
