The only Son of the magnificent one, a poem.

The only Son of the magnificent one, a poem.

Who is this Son you ask of me? He is Jesus, sent from above,
from our Father of love.
On a donkey, Jerusalem before him did lie, hailed by the crowds
as their King, not knowing he came to die.
The Lamb, our sacrifice for sin, offered to God,
to cleanse us from within.
He set his face like flint, to the cross he would go,
he knew the joy that was set before him, Satan would be a defeated foe!
What love is this I do see, given from the mighty God to me?
Down from his glory He came, to deliver me from all my shame.
My own covering of fig leaves he took away, he bore all my sins on the cross that day.
On the cross his nakedness was on open display, Mary as foretold, her heart pierced by a sword, on that day.
He despised the shame and offered himself for our blame.
No longer are we naked before him, believing in the Son, has covered all your sin!
