I've been in the dark for lord knows how many years,
Searching for happiness; a world beyond these tears.
I've seen people come, and of course i've seen them go.
I've been stuck in a place where you can't tell a dear friend from a foe.
Then the light hit, a ray blinding my eyes.
A silent comforting blind, that stiffled my loud cries.
Can't say I understand it, I can't say clearly what happened that day.
I just know I lifted my head with a smile and said it's time to do things my way.
Those nightly crying fits, came to an abrupt end.
I found someone I could depend on, within myself I found a friend.
I gave up my self pity, and set out to build myself.
I healed my wounds, and began to create a better health.
I don't know where it came from, all I know is it must have been from deep within. An angel came from heaven, just to help me fight my sin.
