The First Cut

by hayley williams   Jun 28, 2004

I Cut For The First Time Today
Using The Sharpest Kitchen Knife
I Just Needed To Find A Release
Never Did I Plan To End My Life

I Heard Others Talking About It
Say That Cutting Stops The Pain
Kind Of Like A Welcome Diversion
To Stop Me From Going Insane

I Suppose It Was A Good Feeling
To Finally Be able To Gain Control
Now I Have A Massive Dark Secret
That I Will Never Tell A Single Soul

Pulling The Knife Through My Flesh
Was The Beginning Of The End
I Am Sick Of Always Pretending
Only On Myself I Now Must Depend

Red Welts Drawn With The Blade
Will Always Remain On My Arm
They Will Forever Remind Me
Of The Day I Began To Self Harm

    hey sweetie
im sammi and im a regular cutter i've got about 90-100 on my arms at the moment and my legs are covered in scars. i know what you're felling so if you need someone to talk to you can always turn to me. i think you should stop cutting yourself because you're an awesome poet and if you cut too far it'll be over.
    just keep that in mind
    luv sammi
