There she sits, alone by the door
You can't see it, but she's thinking
About how she shouldn't be
In the world anymore
All those years of teasing,
She's pretending to be strong
But nobody, nobody at all
Would have been able to take the torment so long
She goes home, telling herself
This will be the last day
Her hands are shaking
She holds the gun
Suddenly she remembers
His smile like the sun
The flowers he gave her
The way she'd smiled in return
She puts it down, into the drawer
Now she has something to live for
That night she dreams of him
And his sunlit curls
That night she tells herself
'Tomorrow, he may be yours,'
She wakes up early the next morning,
She plans to tell him everything
And he will call her his darling
She walks across the road,
She pays attention to nothing
Suddenly, she hears screeching
Tires and horns
She feels strong arms push her
As her dress gets torn
She turns to her savior
Only to see the body
Of the man she once called 'Victory'
How strange could it be,
For him to die from her reckless thoughts of him
The night slowly wanes
A gunshot in the night
Puts her to rest with him
