Freedom was never free

by Dash   Jun 1, 2012

Now, its not that I have never gone to church,
Nor is it I call the bible fake,
But all the soldiers who never came home,
is far too much for one man to take.

They will never hold their wives at night
or talk about them in the day,
They will never see their children
run, laugh and play.

Bradlys, bullets and bombs,
Death that leads to victory,
I will say this once my friends,
Freedom was never free.

Men at war, are given no fun. There's no time for merry at war. Peace, is what remains after war. Good job!

Strong, great message. don't be too stringent with correct english when writing a poem from somebodies point of view. People speak differently than the written word. Your first line could have read "Now, its not I've never gone to church,
Not great English, however this would have more likely have been said that way.
    Great poem though.
