Your Second Life

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 1, 2012

Your lies are tracks of the past
and though you ran a million different
miles, you tried to convince me
you were always the same identity.

I've already come to terms
with losing you,
and life still has it's photographs.
The only difference, is that I won't be
acting as if friendship means
posing in your fables.

But I won't fall asleep curled up tonight
for these matters are no longer sad to me,
they make me realize who I really should
fight for, how far gone my heart should be.....
from wasting whole nights
on sacrificing all my blood
so you could try to drink it
and forget.

I've already forgiven the false memories
and I know my heart will now move on,
but just because you're turning around,
it doesn't mean I believe you're fixed
on change.

Very nice opening line.... i thought that line was a strong one, and its true, when someone messes up like that... i can read the sadness in this poem and also disappointment...

i know its hard to lose someone , in any way......a part of them or completely... this is a sad poem but shows a little strength build on that....

    excellent poem
