Somebody that I used to know

by Yakari Gabriel   Jun 2, 2012

I'm moving forward, my love.
I finally can say, that my days are
no longer filled with thoughts of you,
that I don't blame myself for how
things fell apart, that I'm no longer
mourning over our wrecked bond.

it no longer hurts when you don't
answer me, I expect you not to.
but I do grief about your selfishness
because, although you no longer
play my music, you no longer dance with me,
I still do love you, and I know
its going to destroy you.

now,I look back at all those
afternoons spent, I look back
at how many things you taught me,
and how many times you said that
you saw yourself within me, you
were everything to me, the first
person who could read me like
a novel, find too many grammar errors
but still keep on reading.

I don't really miss you anymore, my love.

but I never thought
you'd become a stranger to me,
I never thought I'd forget the sound
of your voice, the beat of your footsteps.

I always knew, distance
would come..

but I never imagined
you'd become,
somebody that I used to know.

No matter how much we love somebody
there comes a time where we have to
weigh our pros and cons. Love often is
not a mutual feeling that's why we have to
tell ourselves, it's time to move on and stop
selling ourselves short. We deserve so
much better. The person we thought we
did love becomes nothing but a vage
    memory
    excellent writing

    Amazing poem.
The goal of love recovery is not wanting the person anymore like we used to.
Seems like you are at the end of that road and ready to choose a new path.
