You Are A Twist In My Poetry

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 6, 2012

I am sure you are one of the few
who hears my blood running
but my dreams tumbling...
have you seen where they've gone?
Because life is beginning to
attempt a suicide upon my eyes.

How do you keep cascading
upon my caged screams?
You hear me for what I am
yet you murmur that life
is written within me,
and it's much bigger than
the strength I have saved.

I never told you, did I dear-
that you have made my heart swell
like an ocean-sized sun,
and I can't stay away
from the one who has whispered
ink into my veins once more.
I thought I would be left to burn-
but that's how all the lonely words
never set on paper feel.

My mind is overfilling, and I won't
turn away my breaths.....
for they are the twist to my story
and I will let them shine down
on all of us who have been blind
to the cosmic love of you.

Written June 1 for a contest on discussion boards.

mary anne... what's the secret... how do you come up with so so so much greatness.. its like your inspiration NEVER goes away.

you are the type of poet that can write about everything/anything.

you are a very special poet child,
and I might not always comment.

but I read each and everyone of your pieces.

I am inlove with the gentleness you put into your poems. how they are so so soft all the time...

I'd call them pillows. sometimes, I just wanna rest my head on your words. so soothing are they.

    you go girl..

this was so beautiful. so beautiful.
