From your title, when you say GI Jo for some reason toys came into mind, like those little soldiers the kids play with.

From reading your poem though it became more powerful to me, more real than just a toy. The images in this poem are strong, loved them!

My dad as in the army during desert storm. It still messes him up at times.. this poem reminds me of his battle within himself even after the real attle was fought. He watched in of his best friends die and everytime he starts to talk about it he starts to cry.. i dint think they ever get over what they went through.
