Veil of Secrecy

by Maple Tree   Jun 10, 2012

Pearled iridescence
shadows the corner
of a dark secret.

Lacing venom
of a hidden covenant
that rests between thought
and forgotten.

She hovers slowly
to captivate the long
ago and the now believer.

It was her destined spirit
who shall remain a memory
within a spiraled web she weaved,

"At Last" the quivered sigh has
hushed the smoldering dark of night
and the bondage of doom has
united with tomorrow....

This has a dark mysterious feeling to it. I like how it reads, and I like the feeling it leaves you with.

You have chosen a perfect title for this poem as it already directs your thoughts to a certain path that the poem then continues to carries through its verses.

    Pearled iridescence
    shadows the corner
    of a dark secret.

this openning was my favorite part. Only true artists can draw a mystic picture with their words; and you hon are an unbelievale one :)

    You penned it.

Andrea, I just love the title and the whole poem.
It has that tone of not being understood, that obscurity and vagueness to leave the reader in thought.

The flow was smooth and captivating and I felt the sense of darkness here...

    Great write.
