True Beauty

Just to be like them,
Just to fit in,
Just to look right,
Just to be thin.

She starves herself,
But no one knows,
She will not eat for days,
Then just as people notice whats happening she will start again,
It does not stay down though,
She will be in the toilet,
Bringing it right back up,
Up, up, up and out,
It hurts,
But she has to be like them,
She has to fit in,
She has to be thin,
To be liked and loved.

It will all start again,
Just as peoples worries fade,
She will starve herself,
Until her body can take it no more,
Until she is forced to eat,
She doesn\'t want to die,
She just wants to be pretty.

What she does not know,
Is that she is,
True beauty can be found within,
To be discovered by those who can see it,
By those who take the time to get to know her,
The real her,
And take the time to help her,
Realise that she is the most beautiful creature on this earth,
If only she would look at herself,
Through the eyes of someone but herself,
She would see this.

But she can\'t,
she has tainted vision,
All she can see is a picture of ugliness,
A person who is nowhere near as nice as she is on the inside,
All she needs is for someone to tell her,
Someone to show her the truth,
Someone who can teach her,
And show her the way,
But more than anything else she needs someone to love her.

  • In the first part the 'she' was me, and I describe what I used to be like, and sometimes still am!, but the last two stanzas where it says what she needs to hear are what I told my friend when it happened to her, and also what I needed to hear when I went through it.

  • Nice message. By the way who is she?
