Checker board

by neon sunset   Jun 11, 2012

Black and white swirls.
in the midnight i twirl.
i'm just a piece for the game.
just something to claim.
knocked over by knights against their will.
you are the night's chill.
the master of the checker board.
you murder my victory with your gold sword.
my dancing has stopped.
me you adopt.
now a piece on the side.
by the others i cry.

I think this is great! I think making an artful poem out of seemingly mundane as chess is masterful.

    Black and white swirls.
    in the midnight i twirl.

I love this and the rhyming through-out is buttery smooth. nicely done!

    Nice imagery used here.
Life sometimes seems like a game and we are just mere pawns.
But don't let this discourage you ;)
