Requiem

by Poet on the Piano   Jun 15, 2012

I suppose your phantom will eventually seize me,
whether it may be at the trains of midnight
or at the barrenness of a lost horizon-
I know for certain that you will grasp me.

I pray that my heart loses its remembrance,
though few tell me it's even conceivable
to think like the sky didn't rupture, like emotion
was not living next to a puppeteer for a pulse.

I often query if it wasn't for my proximity
if you would have billowed away in clarity,
realizing that your dreams weren't challenged
by the ones who cried over you,
and that you could pass on, without
strident ribbons behind you. But I've

been drawn to you,

ever since you first danced upon my name.
This musicality of silence will not rest,
for your words are still performing
a mystique, an inquisition to follow you-

and never break through crystal reality, again.

    Awesome,

So many great lines in this,

    I like

or at the barrenness of a lost horizon-

It makes you try and think what this could look like,

ever since you first danced upon my name.

    interesting that you chose "name"
Shouldn't be possible to dance on a name in literal terms but this works on so many levels. The fact that Requiem is a mass for the rest of loss souls argues this.

if you would have billowed away in clarity,

Couldn't imagine anything beeing billowed had clarity yet these opposing each other seems to work perfectly here.

    thanks for the read.

    regards
