Dear Brother

by Thomas   Jun 17, 2012

Dear Brother,
this is a letter
from me to you
Since talking doesn't work

Life is much more
than being the smartest
than feeling superior
I wish you knew

You are so used
to conquering mountains
That you completely forgot
about life's deep valleys

It's not about
reaching the highest top
But about climbing out
of the holes on the road

Cause life is a road
with a lot of bumps and turns
Of which you'll not reach the end
'till you are dead

Dear Brother,
can't you see
that you're human
after all?

I like to write poem or letter as well because sometimes talking just lead to an argument.

Its so hard to reach family sometimes and to get them to see what we see,,,,

Very sweet piece, not harsh, yet still desperately calling for your brothers attention. :) loved

  • Hopefully your brother listens.

A splendid piece, that brings us back down to earth. Makes us think of where we all started, because that's just as important as the climb. To remember those who helped us get to where we are today and to remember that there is more than what our ambition desires. That our ambition can be both a blessing and a curse. But in the end, we are only human, and we mustn't forget who we were before we began the climb.

You know this is in fact sad and painful to read, beacuse two brothers cannot talk honestly and openly directly and have to write to express their feelings in letters.

The poem sets out to point out that some people are so caught up in themselves that really they cannot see or hear others which is really so sad.

Such a touching and emotional write, well penned.
