Only you!

by Khalid M Darwish   Jun 22, 2012

'Tis only You
who have mastered the game!
You endured my foolishness for years
You stood on any moment of mine
You cut my nails
You waited patiently arranging my books
You made me enter the kindergarten

'Tis only you
Only you, I certify, who were compared to me,
as two portrayals,
similar in thought and behavior,
in mind and craziness,
boring and hunging up quickly

'Tis only You
No woman has ever taken half what you have taken
You divided me into two crescents,
divided crescents into cones
and cones into scattered pieces
You invaded me,
colonized me,
collected me
then wrote me as a poem
You drew me with yours magic fingers
till I became the best picture of yours
You colored me after i was black and white
You flirted with me as a two-month baby,
offering me bird's milk, flowers and games
You were decent with me, like the sea,
You were upscale as poetry,
treating me as a paste in your hands

'Tis only You
who repaired me after you spoiled me
You made me forget my sorrowful life
You have made my childhood extend to fifty

'Tis only you
who was a teacher followed by all creatures
women and children,
birds and winds,
thoughts and destinies
They have all become enthusiastic OF YOU!
