Sage

"Those Who Dance Are Considered Insane by Those Who Can't Hear the Music."

Friedrich Nietzsche

Sage

i burn sage to quieten my mind,

as the exhausted words scratch

the sweetness of this mellow hiatus

before they call me insane again.

What i was yesterday

sleeps restlessly among the herbs

which were gathered to cure blindness

as this music plays and i dance with Nietzsche.

The smell pierces me,

i bleed poetry:

magic starts with emotion.

The time is meek

and meek is what is to come.

Here only the infinite

"me bigger than i am."

Stars are multiplied in constellations,

Neptune comes out of the sea,

Orion throws his arrow at me,

hurting me, hunting what i already

miss because it can't be possessed.

In nothingness,

i see everything

and i - this immense nothing,

this immeasurable immaculate vacuum

is the impermanent sea encircling the world,

is the undisturbed vapor of the sage dancing

in the sky immersed in inexplicable plenitude.

Firstly I have to say I love the quote that you put at the beginning of your poem, I really do love it. I love that you have derived your poem from this quote.

I loved reading this piece, the words, images, everything in this is amazing.

I've said it before your English is so wonderful, if you start writing in another language I will need to learn that language just to read your poems lol

    Awesome

Philosophical, educated, mature, poetic and flows well. i admire your outlooks on life, and i admire you as a poet. you're often very matter of fact in your delivery, very blunt yet poetic and it's hard to come by that.

maybe the fourth stanza is a little awkwardly worded for my tastes towards the end but this is still a great piece. I find it hard to criticise your work, Karla :)

My friend I was flying with every word, every stanza and every shape in which you presented it! Really this is the real expression for emotions. Thank you.
Keep on feeding poetry with your deep thoughts.
