I Am

by Aaron   Jun 25, 2012

I am an eyewitness to the ways of man;
I am the struggle
the triumph
of the war in which my people fought

I am the name that you choose to call
the same name
I resent and hate
the same name I shall never ever answer to at all

I am the dream that a man once had
the same dream
he could never see through,
the equality that could never be
the color you choose to see
a militant in this war
a member of a greater race
and I live to fight
untill all my people recieve their place.

    I really really like this piece, it stands out to me in more ways than one. For being simple it is also interestingly potent, if that may be the right word. I love the style used as well as how clearly your voice was expressed. The word choice was absolutely stunning and I think this is a remarkable piece.
