Didnt see it comin

He threw all his dreams away,
When he signed that contract that day,
He wasnt sure what he wanted in life,
Was not prepared to deal with this kind of strife,

They threw him into a barbers chair,
Horrified when they took all his hair,
They gave him a rifle pointed and said "SHOOT TO KILL!"
This young buck didnt know the deal,

All that training, he went to Afganistan,
To fight this new enemy they called the Taliban,
So afraid that day he got off the plan,
Say his first dead brother and went insane,

The price of war is tagged with dollar signs,
It taxed on the troops minds,
Scared and alone they feel so down,
Hiding the pain when they joke around,

Go home every night and scream to sleep,
Suffering with the memories hes has to keep,
His wife just couldnt understand,
What the hell happened in that foriegn land,

A year later they deploy again,
But this time he knows how this can end,
New unit, no one really knew him,
He didnt make friends so he couldnt loose them.

He was burried in problems, but didnt say a thing,
Got a letter in the mail with his wifes ring,
He read the letter and lost his feel,
Grabed that rifle and it was one shot one kill.......

In the recruitment, life's lonely. When conscripted, Death is way out. Before you proceed, weigh the end.
