In the beginning, they knew no shame
No need went unmet
They had but one charge to obey
Eat of all save one tree lest be dead
To die meant good and evil would abound
and show them everything
From noxious snakes, roaming cursed ground
To struggles and trials such knowledge would bring
They failed to listen, failed to hear
By want of their own way
They modeled the fruit of a non-hearing ear
And lead mankind astray
Eyes having seen only Light became darkened
To view the prince of this world and all his ways
While the King unto whom they did not hearken
Simply let them go astray
They triggered all accounts in which
We're unsure we believe
Plus co-wrote confusion just scratching an Itch
Let's hear it for Adam and Eve
From them it falls for us to choose
Is It the King or the prince in whom we believe?
I choose the King's Daily Bread, the Good News
For I'll never be grateful for what I received
