It's funny how you never really heal,
from broken memories in your past.
The brokeness is still a part of you
like a familar shattered cast.

I see it most when we fight,
and his memory claimes my mind.
I am so terrified to lose you,
because he screams of things long left behind.

I know that you are different,
I swear I really do.
I love you more then anything,
and I could never bare to lose you.

My memories remind me though,
of a time when I was far from okay,
of a time from before you,
when I believed the pain would never go away.

And as much as I hate to admit it,
he's the face to all my fears,
and every time we fight,
his whispers bring out my tears.

I can't promise that I will act rationally,
after we yell and scream.
I can't promise to understand you,
when I push you to that extrem.

I am not a perfect girl,
