Her Heart Is Broken

Her heart is broken.
She can feel nothing at all.
Hurt by him she thinks to herself.
"Why did he lie?" "Why did he leave me?"

But there's nothing she can do.
She's alone now.
No longer will she let anyone in.
No longer will she set herself up for heartbreak.

She knows she messed up.
Things got bad,
but best friends are suppose to make it.
Right?

If so, why didn't they?
Why is she stuck in this dark place again?
"Not everyone is as strong as him."
She starts to tremble as she thinks about him.

She thinks about her old habits.
What got her here in the first place.
Maybe she should just go back to them.
"There's no reason to stop now."

Now she sits alone.
Thinking about life.
Thinking about him and life.
Her heart is broken.
