Insomnia

by Thomas   Jul 4, 2012

So this is
how insomnia must feel
Not being able
to dive in the mind's depth

Having to wrestle
the sheets through the night
Instead of drifting
in the stream of the mind

Not to let
your fantasies engulf you
And wash away
all the dark desires you have

Your first two stanzas were awesome here :) I hate insomnia I know what that feels like as Im sure so many others do too.

I loved the imagery here, wrestling with the sheets, the want and crave of falling asleep to dreamland! Ugh.

    Great piece!

Insomnia is a terrible thing. Your body is
tired and your mind won't shut down.

I have to say that this poem is something tha I can relate to because I've had this so many times, the sleepless nights, the agony and when you do finally get to rest your eyes for a moment it's time to get up and go to work.

I think what you have written here is brilliant and describes in perfect what it's like.

Many others will be able to relate as well.
