Ambition

by SouthernGal   Jul 4, 2012

Eyes filled with wonder
Watching a shooting star
The awe-struck boy beams
With ambitions to go far
The world is so threatening
Full of destruction and hate
And before we all know it
It will be too late
One day he'll be inspired
To become what he's meant to be
And he will spread his wisdom
For all the world to see
His greatness will then fade
But not his wisdom- it will grow
He'll become tired with age
And weakness will start to show
Finally fading away in time
He leaves his mark on this place
By his two glorious children
And their memories of his face
Through his memories and kindness
His tradition carries on
Life & Death, the cycle repeats
But through us, he lives on.
