My Little Piece of Heaven

by SouthernGal   Jul 4, 2012

Barren roads transform
Into 5 o'clock traffic jams
A newborn's idle fingers
A worker's distraught hands
The violent time embraces you
In its inevitable grasp
Distorting reality with dreams
Preventing the most mediocre task
The oasis of my nightmares lies waiting
Where the gentle current flows
Where serenity and hope take flight
Why it's so perfect, no one knows
This place drains this mad world
Out of soul, body, and mind
Lets happiness grow and blossom
And even gives sight to the blind
Unwanted fires will burn on
And the world will soon end
If everyone had a little piece of heaven
Tattered dreams and broken hearts may mend.
