Silence

by tainted melody   Jul 5, 2012

The silence takes my breath away.
I need to hear your voice.
Tell me what your thinking,
Give me some kind of choice.

You deny me conversation,
As a revenge of sorts.
The quiet is unbearable,
Needing your support.

Any noise at all will do,
Even words of rage
This is all I want,
Just unlock this cage.

Want my advice? Run for your life if you have a man like this. I have been married to one such as this for nearly 25 years and he NEVER changed..always uses silence as an instrument to torment me.

    well done,

Since, I-myself is at a point in a relationship with one who your poem completely describes....I love the choice of words.
    Very well written.

This was really neat. Like your striving to hear words from someone you care. Longing to hear anything. Just the sound of their voice soothes. Nice job. By the way you misspelt "you thinking". Needs to be "you're thinking" :)
