Black is Bright

Where are the champions?
Where are the Heroes of the freedom struggle?
Where are the intellects of South Africa?
Who respects us and enhanced the freedom for others
And inspired us to live beyond fear

I heard that Biko is gone
I heard that Hani was assassinated
I heard that Madiba is aging
When did all this happen?
It was yesterday when Madiba was set free
It was last week when Hani was assassinated
And it was a year ago when Biko was tortured in prison
Everything is happening in a blink of an eye

Let us take our hats off for Bantu Biko
A round of applause for Chris Hani
Let us praise tata Mandela
We will never fail your efforts
But take where you left off
And preach the values of Ubuntu

Through you Biko I am proud of my identity
Because of Hani I speak up without fear
Through Madiba I now know
How to lead from the back
And be the captain of my soul
I call upon the bones of my fallen heroes to come together
I don't want to trouble Madiba no more
He's too old for a long run to freedom
For he has walked a long walk to freedom

The struggle continues!!!
