Last Light

by TJ Standen   Jul 6, 2012

Fires, wars are raging
Ash and debris spreads
Distant screams are heard
World torn into shreds

Shadows grow darker
Happiness, a dream
Life does not exist
Evil is supreme

Blood, staining our skin
Death approaches near
Bodies lay lifeless
We're shrouded by fear

But a silent hill
Towers high above
The clouds slowly part
To reveal a dove

Fair skin and black hair
Elegant and tall
Big, bright, golden eyes
A saint to us all

Hidden by a cloak
That is white as snow
Our savior, our hope
Watching us below

This is a really good poem, TJ. It is like one of those fairytale type poems because the hero comes and saves the day type of thing. Very beautiful.

This was well written in my opinion; the rhyming was very good. The flow was also very fluent.
