Letter From a Lost Soul

by Jessica   Jul 7, 2012

My dearest darling, I write in regret
my time has come but please do not fret
for inside this note, enclosed is a key
unveiling a secret I've long kept with me

Inside my chamber, I've hidden a box
one that you'll find the key soon unlocks
and inside that chest, tucked neatly away
holds a ring which deflects all mortal decay

A curse or a blessing, of that I'm not sure
this token of gold was death's very cure!
but with it brought me a pang of great sorrow
for the devil himself decreed each tomorrow

Two hundred years was the length of my stay
commenced the day I signed my soul away
but alas my times done, all has come to an end
and the choice is now yours on which path to ascend
