Sometimes when she sits alone,
She hears the voices shouting.
Scared of what she has done wrong,
Scared because she knows he is strong.
Shaking with fear of one more slap,
She slowly shuffles to the corner.
Stealing her teddy and squeezing him tight,
She knows what's in store for her tonight.
So she silently waits for him to come,
Sick to her stomach, tears start to stream.
Security and safety was her only dream.
Screaming inside to be saved from this hell,
So desperatly wishing she could just tell.
She reaches for the shiny knife,
She wanted so much more from life.
She slides the blade along her wrists,
She feels herself slowly slipping away.
Strangers never heard what she was trying to say,
So now her name on a head stone will stay.

( This was done for a challenge in my writing group, choosing the letter S, writing as much words as you want beginning with the letter, then writing a poem trying to use as much of the words as you can. )
